A Birthday Wish

Before my 45th birthday ends and I move on to the next year, here’s a special thanks for all you’ve done for me. **Warning: mahaba to!)**

Papa and Mama: for all the unconditional love, support, and care. Masakitin ako mula bata but you cared for me and gave me a happy foundation for life. Kahit matigas ulo ko, or di ko nagawa mga expectations nyo, you kept loving me.

Manang Dy: for making sure I brush my teeth, washup bago matulog nung bata pa, and supporting me sa lahat ng pinagdaanan ko- pang tuition, pangkain, hatid-sundo kay Mig, etc. Alam mo na yun!
Manong Jo: for teaching me to write my letters (A- parang bahay na may bed sa gitna, B- mataas na wall, tapos dalawang tyan, etc.) and for buying me books. Because of that I’ve loved to read and write, and eventually teach. And sa pagpa-memorize ng mga kanta sa songhits, kaya gumaling ako mag-English. Di nga lang maremedyuhan boses ko, sintunado pa rin!
Manang Chie: for being my inspiration on being independent and studying hard. Ikaw lagi yung matalino and gets things done, so I tried to be like you all these years. Also, sa pagda-drive mo sa akin sa mga interviews at paghahanap ng opportunities ko dito sa US.
Taffy: for being assertive and true to yourself. Ikaw yung laging frontliner kung may kalaban, so I learned to put myself out there and be confident in all situations I face; to not mind what others think, and always put myself first before others.
Man’Jet: for letting me play and destroy your toys nung bata pa tayo. Dun ako natuto kung pano gawan ng paraan lahat ng bagay hanggang “pwede na”. And for being my great support nung nasa Baguio tayo, at sa pagturo mo sa akin magluto ng imbento para may makain tayo.

I’m 45, Papa, Mama, brothers, and sisters! Sa life expectancy, nasa kalahati na ako. (Di ko sure kung tama yung math ko, ha?) But we never know what tomorrow brings. I thank the Lord for the quarantine because it made me realize deeply that there is no ME without all of YOU!

I love you all. My wish is for the Lord to always provide us with happiness, health, safety, and strength! Sige na, pati prosperity na rin!
